Research interests

Dr. Carol Bult is a Research Scientist/Project Manager at the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA). She is working in collaboration with Drs. Kate Beard and Max Egenhofer on developing the conceptual basis of Spatial Genomics and implementing a Genome Spatial Information System (GenoSIS). Before joining the NCGIA faculty, she was a member of the Research Faculty and the Director of the Molecular Systematics Laboratory at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) in Rockville, Maryland. She also was the Project Director for the Department of Energy's Methanococcus jannaschii genome sequencing project at TIGR. She is working collaboratively with the Mouse Genome Informatics group at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine on several database projects.
