Professor Landis's teaching interests include structural engineering and experimental mechanics. His research areas have included nondestructive evaluation of structural concrete, application of fracture mechanics to quasi-brittle materials, and the linking of micromechanical material features to overall structural response. Additional interests include micromechanics modeling of cement-based materials , properties of stress waves in heterogeneous media, and influence of material damage to structural behavior. Dr. Landis joined the University of Maine faculty in the fall of 1994.
