Undergraduate

"It's a big school with a lot of opportunities, but at the same time you can walk down the street and see 20 or 30 people you know. It really is a community. You're not a number, you're an individual. I like it because UMaine is open to everyone, no matter who you are or what you stand for."

Engineers from UMaine are innovators, builders and problem solvers. Faculty members and undergraduate students together actively engage in research that is on the frontiers of new knowledge.
UMaine Engineering offers strong, accredited engineering programs with award-winning teachers, accomplished researchers, and talented students. Perhaps the most beneficial to students is the close working relationship between engineering faculty and our students. Faculty is readily available to help and advise students on academic matters, as well as provide guidance on career choices. This has been a long-standing tradition at Maine and adds immeasurably to the educational experience.
Academic success is also fostered outside the classroom with opportunities for coop experience and research participation
The College of Engineering typically is awarded
over $10,000,000 in research support, which provides opportunities for undergraduate students to work with faculty and graduate students on both basic and applied research.
Students can choose to live in engineering sections of residence halls and are eligible for our mentioning program and study sessions led by upper-class students.
UMaine also offers one of the oldest honors programs in the nations for students looking for an extra challenge.
