Women Students

All UMaine Engineering students are invited to join the active student section of the Society of Women Engineers. Each year, the students plan and host a "Science in Action" day to help Girl Scouts in Maine earn their science badges. Students also participate in Expanding Your Horizons, an annual conference that encourages middle school girls to explore careers in math and science. The group also hosts tours, networking events and social activities throughout the academic year. The group's advisor is Karen Horton, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology.
